Frequently Answered Questions
|
Hey, can you photograph...
Yes. If I'm available, I'll shoot anything. I love a challenge.
What
kind of experience do you have?
I've been in this business since 2005, first as an apprentice to an established professional, then on my own. I have shot weddings,
bar mitzvahs, sports, headshots, community events, bands, dance recitals...a little bit of
everything. I have color-corrected tens of thousands of images and designed several dozen photo album spreads. My photos have also been published in two national magazines. Otherwise, I let my work speak for
itself.
How
can I reserve you for my event date?
Simply
request a contract and pay a deposit of $300 for weddings. Other events
do not require deposits, but do require a contract.
How far are you willing
to
travel?
I
am located in Bergen County and service North Jersey and surrounding
areas. Anything over an hour's drive away or events in New
York City may require a small extra fee for travel expenses.
Do you offer albums or
print packages?
Yes. Contact me for details.
What
kind of equipment do you use?
I
shoot only digital, primarily with Nikon equipment. Occasionally I will
rent additional equipment if I feel the occasion requires it. I shoot
with two or three cameras, so your event coverage will not be interrupted if a camera
breaks. What rights will I have
to the pictures?
Customers have full printing rights. Just don't sell them or try and pass them off as your
own if you submit them to a local newspaper or something like
that. Otherwise, they're all yours.
Do you have an assistant?
Officially, no. I may bring someone along if I feel the situation requires it. Usually this is not neccesary for events, but I can use an extra hand on controlled photoshoots. If you'd like me to bring a second photographer for additional coverage, that can be arranged.

How many weddings do you do a year?
Very few compared to most photographers. I like to keep it between 10 and 20 so as to not get overwhelmed. I rather do 15 solid jobs than 45 sloppy ones. I also like to mix in other types of events and photoshoots throughout the year to break the flow and keep things fresh.
What
do you wear to
events?
You can be assured I will always wear
appropriate attire.
If you have a special request just let me know. No
big deal.
Can
you take table shots?
I'll try my best to
capture
everyone participating in your wedding day, and I'll be happy to take
some large group shots of all your wedding guests, but table shots
often slow things down to a crawl and don't allow me to focus on the
bride and groom so I cannot guarantee that every table will be shot.
What if you're sick?
If I can walk, I'll be at
your
event. However, if an extreme emergency should arise, I will find someone to
take my place, and I will make sure they are competent and talented,
even if it means losing money on the deal.
How many photos will I get? When will I receive them?
For a typical wedding, I often shoot over 1000 images. But appreciating one photo is difficult when there are 999 more to look at. I don't like to present my clients with any unnecessary filler, so I sort through and pick out the best 350 from the day. Then I go through one-by-one correcting color casts, fixing exposure, hiding blemishes, etc. so every image is as good as it can be. Shorter events will result in fewer photos, but everything that goes from my camera to a client receives the same meticulous attention.
For DVDs and online albums, your photos should be ready in 2-5 weeks. Album orders may take 2 to 4 months as they have to be designed, ordered, printed and bound. Can I meet with you in
person
to view your
work or discuss my event?
Of course! I'd be happy to meet you at a cafe or similar locale. Simply contact
me and request a meeting.
Do you do video?
No. I am an aspiring filmmaker but I do not have professional equipment and am not prepared for any sort of professional videography. If you're looking for a video guy, I reccomend Bobby Tucker.
